Mizube Style Aquarium — 200×50×50 cm, 500 L, Low-Tech

This Mizube style aquarium measures 200×50×50 cm, holds 500 litres and is a low-tech layout. Mizube means "water's edge" in Japanese: the composition does not stop at the surface but continues from inside the water outwards.

Composition

Here the composition was built without CO2 or plants, on fish, rock and roots alone. Fine-branched roots rise from inside the tank, open a wide crown above the surface and spill beyond the edges of the glass.

This "spilling-over" (shallow) approach makes the layout read like a sculpture in the room. Rock and root groups on the floor create natural cover for the fish.

Fabrication

The tank was made with zero-silicone workmanship: no visible excess silicone is left on the inner joints, so the glass edges read clean and slim.
